What is Gift Card Genie?
Gift Card Genie is a marketplace for buying, selling and swapping gift cards.

Why does Gift Card Genie have gift cards for sale at prices lower than the amount on the card?

Gift Card Genie allows individual users to post their gift cards for sale. Some pre-owned gift card owners have listed their cards for at a sale price lower than the denomination in order to sell the card quickly and easily.

Why do sellers need a PayPal account?
Sellers receive payment through their e-mail address and PayPal account. In order for a seller to receive payment after selling their gift card, they must accept the payment via their PayPal account.

After I sell my gift card how do I get paid?
After you complete a sale Gift Card Genie will send you an e-mail with the buyer’s address and a request for the tracking number of the shipped gift card. After the seller ships the gift card, they must reply to the e-mail with their name and tracking number. When the tracking number is received by Gift Card Genie, the seller will receive payment through their e-mail address and PayPal account within 2-7 business days.

Why do you require sellers to mail their gift cards to Gift Card Genie before they can be listed?
Mailing your card to Gift Card Genie takes the hassel out of selling your gift card. Also, we verify the card balance before the card is sold, which protects buyers and makes sure the card has the proper balance listed.

What is the difference between the small image and the large image?
The small image is the image that appears in the search results page. The large image appears in the details page of your listing.

What is the difference between the short and long descriptions?
The short description appears in the search results page and should just be a brief statement about the card you are selling (no more than 2 sentences). The long description allows you to tell other users more about the card and can be a longer statement (no more than 6 sentences).

How do I make changes to my listing?
Log in to your account and click "manage my listings". Please note: no changes may be made to a listing price once the card has been verified by Gift Card Genie.

Why do you ask for the state of purchase?
Gift cards are subject to the laws of the state in which they were originally purchased. Currently different states have different laws that affect the service fees and expiration dates of gift cards. By asking for the state of purchase, Gift Card Genie allows are users to be informed about the laws that will affect the gift card they are about to purchase.

Why do you ask for the expiration date?
Gift Card Genie wants our users to be aware that some cards may have expiration dates that will go into effect, this way they are able to decide whether they will use the gift card before it expires.

What if I don’t know whether my card has an expiration date?
If you don’t know whether your card has an expiration date, you can call the company number listed on the back of your gift card. If no number exists, many company websites will also allow you to check your balance and expiration date.

How long does it take to get my card after I purchase it?
Depending on where you live, it should arrive within 10-14 days.

What happens if my card doesn’t sell?
If your gift card doesn’t sell within 30 days, Gift Card Genie will mail it back to you.
